Sewer Lining Program

The City of Waukee has implemented a sewer lining program where 1,500 feet of sanitary sewer is lined each year in the older areas of town. The sewer lining project consists of an inflatable lining which is placed inside the existing sewer line than steamed into place. This system stops infiltration and considerably lengthens the service life of the pipe. This procedure can be done without digging up the old line and repairing or replacing it. The program is a collaborative effort between Urbandale, Clive, and Norwalk to obtain the lowest price from the contractor for the sewer lining project.
