Waukee Parks Improvement Plan
A new one-cent local option sales tax passed for Dallas County on November 7, 2017. The tax will be effective on July 1, 2018 and will generate $2 million of new revenue each year for the City of Waukee. $1 million of that revenue annually will go into parks improvements and additions. View a draft of the proposed parks improvement plan (PDF). The other $1 million annually will be escrowed to offset future property tax increases related to a second Public Safety Building expected to open in 2025.
