Social Lunch & Bingo
Gather with friends on the first Friday of each month for a social lunch catered by the Waukee Fareway. Come for a good meal and stay for a great social hour. Lunch begins at noon, and bingo is played from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. No registration is required.
Movie Matinee in the Miner’s
Join us the second Thursday of every month at 10 a.m. for a movie on the library’s big screen. Enjoy everything from major blockbusters to classics. All movies are free with refreshments available. No registration is required.
Spring Overnight Mystery Trip - May 3-4, 2018
Travel down a portion of one of Iowa’s Historic byways stopping along the way in picturesque communities remembering the past and appreciating the present. Acknowledge earlier generations who served the nation as well as their own communities. Step back into “Days of Yore” for an afternoon performance. On day two step into the past and finish in the present; see changes a century has made. The hotel has a fitness center, a lounge and a pool with an amazing view of its community. The fee includes transportation, one breakfast, two lunches, one dinner, all admissions and gratuities. Register
Inbound Iowa Loess Hills Day Trip - September 25, 2018
The Loess Hills are shaped by nature; these majestic hills are the hallmark of a road trip in Western Iowa. Formed by deposits of fine windblown soil at the end of the ice age, these are not your average hills. While the lavender is still blooming, smell, see, pick and taste this delectable plant during a lunch stop. Then a step-on guide will take you through parts of the Loess Hills. Visit the DeSoto Wildlife Refuge where the Steamboat Bertrand Collection is on display. A trip to an orchard and a stop at the Manning Hausbarn are also on the agenda. Iowa State Fair - August 15, 2018
Do you like taste-testing everything on a stick or seeing the Butter Cow and all of the other buttery creations at the Iowa State Fair? How about strolling through the homemade crafts and quilts? Take a trip to the 2018 Iowa State Fair for Older Iowan Day. You won’t have to worry about fighting traffic because the bus will drop the group off inside the gates right next to Ye Old Mill. Register
