Social Lunch & Bingo

Gather with friends on the first Friday of each month for a social lunch catered by the Waukee Fareway. Come for a good meal and stay for a great social hour. Lunch begins at noon, and Bingo is played from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. No registration is required.

Saturday Night Cards

Every Saturday night at 7:15 p.m. the Plus 50 Club gets together for games and cards at the Waukee Community Center at 675 Walnut Street. Any adult is welcome to come and join the fun. Bring a friend and share your favorite game with the group. No registration required. Contact Dolores Betzold at 515-778-6422 with questions.

Movie Matinee in the Miner’s

Join us the second Tuesday of every month at 1:30 p.m. for a movie on the Library’s big screen. We will be showing everything from major blockbusters to classics. All movies are free, and popcorn and lemonade are available. No registration is required. 

Spring Overnight Mystery Trip

It’s a Mystery Trip! Get ready to start moving in 2016! There’s a lot planned, but not too much. Be sure to bring your walking shoes. The hotel is beautiful and in the heart of the city. Yes, but which city? It’s been renovated from a 1900s business center and has its own story. We will tour remarkable destinations and enjoy lunches in unusual locations. Register

Fall Foliage Cruise

We’re hopping on board with InboundIowa for a three day Fall Foliage trip to Eastern Iowa. This colorful trip will include a 4-hour fall foliage lunch cruise aboard the Celebration Belle, shopping in LeClaire and Kalona, tours of the Buffalo Bill Museum, a visit to the Quad Cities Botanical Center to learn all about chocolate, and stops at the John Deere-Wiman house and the Butterworth Mansion. Amana Colonies Day Trip

Travel to the Amana Colonies in Eastern Iowa to explore the unique history of the seven villages. The day will include a guided tour through several of the historic villages with stops at the old Woolen Mill, the Amana Meat Shop and Smokehouse, and the Old-Fashioned General Store (built in 1857!), just to name a few. Iowa State Fair

Do you like taste-testing everything on a stick or seeing the Butter Cow and all of the other buttery creations at the Iowa State Fair? How about strolling through the homemade crafts and quilts? Take a trip to the 2016 Iowa State Fair for Older Iowan Day. You won’t have to worry about fighting traffic because the bus will drop the group off inside the gates right next to Ye Old Mill. Register
