Saturday Night Cards 

Every Saturday night at 7:15 p.m. the Plus 50 Club gets together for games and cards at the Waukee Community Center at 675 Walnut Street. Any adult is welcome to come and join the fun. Bring a friend and share your favorite game with the group. No registration required. Contact Dolores Betzold at 515-778-6422 with questions.

Social Lunch & Bingo

Gather with friends on the first Friday of each month for a social lunch catered by the Waukee Fareway. The cost for lunch is $4; bingo is $1 + $.10 per card. Come for a good meal and stay for a great social hour. Lunch begins at noon, and bingo is played from 1-2:30 p.m. No registration is required. 2017 Dates: March 3, April 7, May 5, June 2, July 7 and August 4

Movie Matinee in the Miner’s

Join us the second Thursday of every month at 10 a.m. for a movie on the library’s big screen. We will be showing everything from major blockbusters to classics. All movies are free, and popcorn and lemonade are available. No registration is required.

InBoundIowa Overnight Mystery Trip, June 20-21

It’s time for the annual overnight Mystery Trip! Keep those cameras rolling and flags waving as you “race” around the state of Iowa exploring people, places and things you may not know exist. There will be a little “Hollywood”, some art, tours, tasty food and intriguing stories about people from Iowa and what they have done for our state and even our nation. Register

Journey to the southeastern part of Iowa to explore the Villages of Van Buren County. Enjoy Amish food and furniture, a scenic ride through Lacey-Keosauqua State Park, the Bentonsport Indian Artifact Museum and more! Register

Iowa State Fair, August 16

Do you like taste-testing everything on a stick or seeing the Butter Cow at the Iowa State Fair? How about strolling through the homemade crafts and quilts? Take a trip to the 2017 Iowa State Fair for Older Iowan Day. You won’t have to worry about fighting traffic because the bus will drop the group off inside the gates right next to Ye Old Mill. Explore Winterset, September 19

Travel south to visit the famous Covered Bridges of Madison County and much more! Learn about the history and stories of the covered bridges, have lunch and shop local stores and visit the Madison County Historical Society. Cap the day off with a stop at Iowa’s only hard apple cidery for some samples! Register
