Back to School Roads Update

  • Alice’s Rd Widening – The contractor has scheduled a traffic shift for the late morning of August 31st. Traffic will be moved from the west lanes to the newly constructed east lanes of Alice's Road. The contractor will continue to work on the construction of the west half of the road with a completion date anticipated in late November 2017.

  • SE Westown Parkway – Street paving is complete. Trail paving, street light installation, pavement markings, traffic signal modifications and site restoration will be completed in the next couple weeks. The roadway is expected to be open in the middle of September 2017.

  • Hickman Rd and Westgate Dr Traffic Signal – The contractor is working on turn lane modifications and pedestrian ramps. Lane closures between 9am-3pm are occurring daily and will continue until paving is completed in 2-3 weeks. Traffic signals will be installed once poles are delivered to the site.  The traffic signal is anticipated to be operational by the end of October 2017.

  • SE Esker Dr Improvements – The contractor expects to complete main line paving this week. Sidewalk paving, street light installation, pavement markings, traffic signal installation and site restoration will be completed in the next couple weeks. The roadway is expected to be open in October 2017. The traffic signal at the intersection of Grand Prairie Parkway and SE Esker Ridge Drive is anticipated to be operational by November 2017.

  • 4th Street Pavement Improvements – an asphalt overlay on 4th St (Ashworth Rd to Northview Dr) and School St (4th St to cul-de-sac) is anticipated to be completed in September and October 2017.
