Bill Payment Policies
New Charges: Due and payable on or before the 20th
of each month. Any past due amount is subject to collection procedures
specified in the City of Waukee's ordinance, which may include certification
as a tax lien. A complete schedule of rates and ordinances is available
from the City of Waukee.
Late Payment Fee: When payment is not received at
Waukee City Hall by the 20th of the month, a late payment shall be added.
The late payment fee is equal to 1.5% of the unpaid balance. When the
late payment fee is charged, it will appear on your billing statement
as an adjustment.
If a payment is
missed, the utility office will mail a reminder letter. If payment
has not been received twelve days later the city will post a door
tag on the account holder’s door as a final reminder. At this
point, a fee is assessed for posting the door tag. After the door
tag is placed, the occupants have twenty four-hours to settle their
account or make arrangements to do so with the Utilities Department Personnel.
