City advisory boards, committees and commissions serve an integral role in city government. Board members are citizen volunteers who review and report to the City Council on such things as utility rates, proposed buildings and subdivisions, zoning ordinance amendments, recreation activities, variance applications, and library matters.
Board members are appointed by the mayor, with approval by the City Council, based on interest and experience. If you would like to serve on a board, committee or commission, submit a letter of interest to the Deputy City Clerk.
