  4. One-Cent Local Option Sales Tax Public Information Meeting

    October 26, 2017, 6:30 PM @ Waukee City Hall

    The Regular City Election is scheduled for a month from tomorrow. During the November 7 Election, Dallas County residents will vote on a countywide referendum for a one-cent local option sales tax. Waukee could receive $2 million annually if it passes. $1 million of these annual revenues would go toward park improvements, and $1 million annually would go into escrow for a future second Public Safety Building. City staff will provide details on how these potential revenues would be used.

    The National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications. Prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding your home of potentially dangerous expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs. Bring pills for disposal. The DEA cannot accept liquids or needles or sharps, only pills or patches. The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.
