The City of Waukee requires review by the Planning and Zoning Commission and approval by the City Council regarding all development projects including both residential and commercial as well as redevelopment projects and additions.
The development review process is typically a six to eight week process which begins with a formal submittal of an application to the City of Waukee. Through the process, plans are reviewed by staff typically two to three times prior to placement of a project on the Planning and Zoning Commission for review. Following review of an application by the Planning and Zoning Commission, the project moves on to City Council for approval.
Staff welcomes and encourages citizen participation in the development review process. Citizen input will not only help guide the type and style of development within individual neighborhoods but within the community as a whole.
Should you have any questions, comments or suggestions regarding any current development projects under review within the City of Waukee, please feel free to contact the Planning Department at 515-987-4522 or by email at bdeets@waukee.org. |
