Duties and Responsibilities:

Director of Community Development is primarily responsible for community and economic development issues including the following activities:

• Supervise Code Compliance department
• Business retention and recruitment activities including: development of marketing strategy and associated materials, site selection, preparation of financial incentive proposals, conduct existing industry visits, and produce quarterly newsletter
• Coordinate with City Administrator and Public Works Director in the development and implementation of the City’s Capital Improvement Plan
• Coordinate, monitor, and administrate the use of funds in the City’s Tax Increment Financing District
• Write grants for community related projects
• Develop Waukee’s annual legislative agenda
• Member of the Metropolitan Planning Organization’s Transportation Technical Committee and Planning Subcommittee
• Member of the Greater Dallas County Development Alliance Board of Directors
