Duties and Responsibilities:

Manages all Fire Department and Civil Preparedness operations including supervision and training of firefighters; remains available to respond to fire and emergency preparedness calls 24 hours a day; prepares budget and develops long range plans for the department; composes and enforces standard operating procedures; speaks to members of the community on fire safety and conducts tours of the fire stations; formulates policy changes and attends City Council meetings as necessary to promote recommendations; inspects buildings and investigates causes and origins of fires.
