CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Grade I Water Treatment Certification
  • Grade II Water Distribution Certification
  • Grade I Wastewater Treatment Certification
  • Grade II Wastewater Treatment Certification

GENERAL SUMMARY
With general direction from the Director of Public Works, operates and maintains the water distribution, wastewater plant, and the wastewater collection systems – including lift stations. Collects, tests and analyzes water and wastewater samples. Prepares reports as required in accordance with EPA and DNR regulations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Collects and analyzes water and wastewater samples and prepares and submits reports to regulatory agencies, as required.
  2. Rereads or special reads as needed.
  3. Recommends ordering of supplies, special needs/projects, and advises Public Works Supervisor of problems/potential problems.
  4. Responds to emergency situations in a timely fashion. Subject to emergency calls at anytime/repairs water main breaks, sewer back ups, and lift station alarms.
  5. Maintain and operate wastewater treatment plant and collection system including lift stations.
  6. Maintain and operate water distribution system.
  7. Submits weekly work reports to Director of Public Works as requested.
  8. Performs service calls pertaining to water and sanitary sewer.
  9. Make recommendations to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of areas of responsibility.
  10. Work with other departments, perform other related duties as required.
