GENERAL SUMMARY
With general direction from the Director of Public
Works, operates and maintains the water distribution, wastewater plant,
and the wastewater collection systems – including lift stations.
Collects, tests and analyzes water and wastewater samples. Prepares
reports as required in accordance with EPA and DNR regulations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Collects and analyzes water and wastewater samples and prepares
and submits reports to regulatory
agencies, as required.
- Rereads
or special reads as needed.
- Recommends ordering of supplies, special needs/projects, and
advises Public Works
Supervisor of problems/potential problems.
- Responds to emergency situations in a timely fashion. Subject
to emergency calls
at anytime/repairs water main breaks, sewer back ups, and lift
station alarms.
- Maintain and operate wastewater treatment plant and collection
system including lift
stations.
- Maintain and operate water distribution system.
- Submits weekly work reports to Director of Public Works as requested.
- Performs service calls pertaining to water and sanitary sewer.
- Make recommendations to improve the efficiency and effectiveness
of areas of responsibility.
- Work with other departments, perform other related duties as
required.
