
The Waukee Fire Department accepts applications throughout the year for part-time/paid-on-call positions. We usually conduct a testing process yearly to hire additional staffing. These POC positions staff the station with full time employees 24/7 and are paid for time worked. In addition, if the employee lives within a set distance from the Fire Station, the POC employee would respond to calls when available from their home.
If selected for employment, the Waukee Fire Department will provide the minimum required training and certifications through a recruit academy to a candidate without prior certifications who lives locally.
Preference will be given to those who do live in or near Waukee.
