Waukee City Parks
Waukee city parks offer a range
of experiences from quiet solitude to exciting softball games.
Centennial Park

This 33-acre park is full of recreational opportunities. The park is equipped
with 2 sand volleyball courts, 3 ball diamonds, basketball court,
9-hole Disc Golf Course, 3 playgrounds, 2 open shelters, 1 enclosed shelter,
creek, and a covered bridge. The open green space is perfect for a picnic with
the entire family.
Warrior Park
South End of 4th Street
This 7-acre park began a major facelift with the addition of a new sledding hill. The conceptual master plan calls for many improvements to the park including a multipurpose court, playground, shelter house, and a trail around the perimeter of the park.
Ridge Pointe Park
Adjacent to Walnut Creek Little League Complex
This 21-acre park serves as a flat, open field for uses such as soccer practice and open play. It also has a sand volleyball court, walking path, play area and a backstop. New in 2007, the Ridge Pointe Park Pavilion will seat up to 50 people and can be rented year-round.
Southfork Park
Located on South Branch Drive
This 3-acre park serves as a small neighborhood park. It is
improved with a playground set, open shelter, picnic tables, grill
and benches.
Triangle Park
Intersection of Walnut Street and 6th Street
This half-acre park is nestled in the heart of downtown Waukee.
It contains a large gazebo and serves as host to the farmers market
on Wednesday nights during the summer months and Santa during Winterfest.
Songbird Park
Located behind 1070 1st Pl, East of Southview Street
Songbird Park has been recognized as a “Backyard Wildlife
Habitat" and Certified as such by The National Wildlife
Federation.
This 3-acre habitat is certified in the NWF worldwide network of 36,000
mini-refuges where because of the owner’s conscientious planning,
landscaping and sustainable gardening wildlife may find quality habitat-food,
water, cover and places to raise their young. The average habitat is
between 1/3 and 2 acres. Roger Schlaefer, park caretaker says that
in the parks 15 year existence, good progress has been made in providing
wildlife habitat. He would appreciate more volunteer help in planning
even better habitat and landscaping. If you have any good ideas please
contact Roger at 515-987-1928.
Windfield Park
114 Windfield Parkway
This five-acre neighborhood park includes an open shelter, picnic tables, two
playground sets and an open field area.
