Responsibilities
Director of Community Development is primarily responsible for community
and economic development issues including the following activities:
- Business retention and recruitment activities including: development
of marketing strategy and associated materials, site selection, preparation
of financial incentive proposals, conduct existing industry visits,
and produce quarterly newsletter
- Coordinate with City Administrator and Public Works Director in the
development and implementation of the City’s Capital Improvement
Plan
- Coordinate, monitor, and administrate the use of funds in the City’s
Tax Increment Financing District
- Write grants for community related projects
- Develop Waukee’s annual legislative agenda
- Member of the Metropolitan Planning Organization’s Transportation
Technical Committee and Planning Subcommittee
