Waukee's McGruff House program has lost funding from the National Crime Prevention Council and will no longer be active. However, the Waukee Police Department is excited to introduce the Waukee Safe House Program to take the place of the McGruff House Program. The new program will apply to all Waukee residents and is in the development stages, with an anticipated start date prior to the beginning of the 2012-2013 school year.
