Residents, the Waukee Police Department urges you to be on alert for callers offering free alarm systems. This is a scam and you are urged to contact the Waukee Police Department right away.

Just recently, residence in West Des Moines and the surrounding metro area have been fooled by scammers offering a free alarm system in your home in exchange for posting a sign for their business. Police suggest that responding with "No thanks. I already have an alarm system," not, "I'm not interested," because this could suggest to the caller that your property is unprotected.
