Mayor Bill Peard has been named runner-up in the "Best Politician on Business Issues" in a recent issue of the Des Moines Business Record (click here to view the Business Record article).  Mayor Peard served two terms on the Waukee city council and as mayor pro tem and is currently serving his fourth term as mayor. He has served on numerous local boards which have been instrumental in economic development efforts and community betterment. He presently serves on the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) policy board and as a board member for both the Waukee Economic Development Corporation and the Waukee Area Leadership Institute. He is also involved with the Mid Iowa Association of Local Governments, and the Waukee Area Chamber of Commerce.
