Waukee Public Improvement Projects

Waukee Natural Gas Pipeline

Beginning the week of November 9, 2009, construction will begin for the City of Waukee Natural Gas Pipeline running from an existing pipeline north of Granger south to the City of Waukee. The pipeline will generally be constructed within 180th Street, 190th Street and W Avenue right of way in Dallas County. It will also be constructed in Alice's Road right of way in the Cities of Urbandale, Clive and Waukee. During construction there may be limited roadway lane closures. The pipeline construction is expected to be completed in the winter of 2009 with final cleanup activities in the spring of 2010. 

Alice's Road/105th Street Bridge over Interstate 80 and Connecting Roads Project

Construction has begun on the first phase of the Alice's Road/105th Street Corridor Project. Phase 1 includes the construction of a six lane bridge over Interstate 80 and grading of the six lane connecting roadways to Ashworth Road within the City of Waukee and Wendover Road within the City of West Des Moines. Earthwork on the project began in May and it is anticipated that the work associated with Phase I will be completed by the Spring of 2010.

Future phases of this multi-phased project will include further extension of Alice's Road to the north within the City of Waukee and 105th Street to the south within the City of West Des Moines, sanitary trunk sewer construction and completion of the interchange ramps onto Interstate 80.

A portion of Ashworth Road, within the City of Waukee will be closed for an approximately three week period of time starting July 17, 2009 to complete intersection work associated with the Phase I construction.
