Overview

The Heart of the Warrior Trail starts northeast of Waukee’s Centennial Park and runs east-to-west through the city for three miles. Thanks to a $125,000 REAP grant secured from the Iowa Department of Natural Resources in 2011, the trail now crosses Alice’s Road and connects to Clive’s Greenbelt Trail in Lions Park.

The Heart of the Warrior Trail helps to unify the Waukee community by providing a continuous trail through the core of established neighborhoods in the city. And, with the recent widening of Alice's Road, a new trail underpass was constructed to provide a safer passage for trail users.
