Art-rageous Adventures in Fort Dodge Day Trip

Journey alongside the Des Moines River enjoying all the art, culture and food of Fort Dodge! View superb art displays at Iowa’s first permanent art museum – the Blanden Art Museum, and make your own art at Studio Fusion. Lunch will be held at the upscale, yet friendly restaurant Tea Thyme. In the afternoon, participants will visit a 110-foot grain silo which was turned into a massive mural by Australian-born artist Guido van Helten as well as the Community Orchard where a tour, shopping and warm apple pie await. The fee includes transportation, lunch and art-making supplies (upgrades available). The trip is Wednesday, Sept. 18 from 7 a.m.-6 p.m. Participants will be picked up at the Waukee Community Center. Registration is open through Sept. 3 or until all spots are filled. The cost is $75. Register!

Minnesota Vikings vs. Detroit Lions Road Trip

The bus is heading back to U.S. Bank Stadium to see the Minnesota Vikings take on the Detroit Lions. Ride along to Minneapolis on Sunday, Dec. 8 to watch the inner conference rivalry. Seating will be in the corner end zone, level 319. Game time is noon*; the charter bus will depart early Sunday morning around 6 a.m. There will be one stop for restrooms and food each way, and travelers are welcome to bring food and beverages on the bus. Children are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult. The fee includes transportation, parking and a ticket to the game. Registration will open online Monday, Aug. 26 at 8 a.m. Spots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. The cost is $135 per person. Register!

Dinner Delights

Dinner Delights freezer meal parties take care of the menu planning, shopping and prepping for dinner. At the end of the party, everyone takes home six meals. Participants just need to bring freezer bags or a cooler in which to take the meals home. Dinner Delights will provide the rest! View the full menu online when you register. The meal parties are held on Sept. 8, Oct. 13, Nov. 10, Dec. 8, Jan. 12, Feb. 16 and March 8 from 2-4 p.m. at the Ridge Pointe Pavilion. The cost $100 per 3 servings of 6 meals or $200 per 6 servings of 6 meals. Register!

Lunch & Learn and Bingo

No time to attend an evening or weekend program? Try the library’s Lunch & Learn series! A different speaker will educate attendees the first Friday of the month at the Waukee Community Center. Bring a brown bag lunch, and the library staff will provide the dessert. Sessions will be held on Sept. 6, Oct. 4,  Nov. 1 and March 6 at 11 a.m. Stick around afterward for bingo at 1 p.m.!

Movie Matinee in the Miner’s

Head to the Waukee Public Library the second Thursday of every month for a different movie on the big screen. Enjoy everything from major blockbusters to classics. All movies are free with refreshments available. Movies start at 10 a.m. No registration is required.
