How to Register

Payment is required at the time of registration. Participants may register by one of four methods:

 1. Online (preferred method)

Register online to pay with a credit and debit card. Credit/Debit card payments are only accepted online.

 2. Mail

Printable registrations (PDF) can be mailed to 805 University Avenue, Waukee, Iowa 50263.

 3. Drop-off

Printable registrations (PDF) can be dropped in our drop-off box to the right of the Parks & Recreation office’s front door.

 4. Walk-in

Don’t have a computer or a printer? Stop in the Parks & Recreation offices and use one of our printed registration forms.

When to Register

Registration for our spring and summer programs opens March 1 for Waukee Residents and March 4 for Non-Residents. Registration for fall and winter programs opens August 15. Most classes and programs fill up fast, so don’t wait too long. Registration for most programs will stay open until one week prior to the start date unless the program is already full. Leagues, trips and some other programs will have earlier close dates for registration, which are typically noted in the registration platform.

COVID-19 Protocols & Policies

Policies will vary between programs, activities and special events. Policies for programs and activities that are led by Parks & Recreation staff, contracted staff or volunteers will be determined by staff, and participants will be notified of any protocols prior to the program or activity. Policies for special events with a larger, public gathering will be determined by local or state government officials. Attendees will be notified of protocols via social media and the City’s website.


Programs, activities, special events, and festivals that are canceled, postponed or changed in location will be announced as soon as possible. Please check our Facebook for updates. Waukee Parks & Recreation reserves the right to cancel a program or an activity that does not meet the minimum number of participants necessary to offer the program.

Photo and Video Policy

Photos and videos may be taken of participants and guests at programs, activities, leagues, trips, special events and festivals. These photos and videos may be used in promotional materials, press releases and kits, magazine articles, newsletters, and any City social media channels.

Program Refund Policy

A $5 non-refundable processing fee will be deducted from the refund when an enrollee withdraws from a program at least one week prior to the first day of the program. Within one week of the program start date, a refund will not be issued.

A $5 non-refundable processing fee will be deducted from the refund when an enrollee withdraws prior to rosters being made. After rosters are formed, no refund will be issued.

Cancelations for trips must be made at least three weeks prior to the trip date to receive a full refund less a $5 non-refundable processing fee. No refund will be issued for cancellations within 3 weeks of the trip.1. Refund requests must be made at least one week prior to the first day of the program or prior to rosters being made for leagues.

Refunds will be issued by check if original payment was made by check or cash. If payment was made online with a credit card, the credit will be put back on to the card. Please allow 2-4 weeks for refunds to be processed.

Facility Rental Refund Policy

To receive a refund, reservations must be cancelled at least 10 business days prior to the date of reservation. A $10 non-refundable processing fee will be deducted from the refund. No refund will be issued for cancelations made within 10 business days of the start of the reservation.
