Saturday, January 16, 2021
Ayurveda, Yoga’s sister science, is a 5,000-year-old system of natural healing rooted in the ancient culture of India. Providing guidelines on ideal daily and seasonal routines, diet, behavior, and the proper use of our senses, Ayurveda focuses on the balanced and dynamic integration between body, mind, spirit, and environment to achieve optimal health. In this class Sabbath Schrader (RN, Ayurvedic Practitioner, Birth Trauma Therapist, and owner of Sacred Health in the Des Moines), will introduce you to the central topics of ayurveda. You will learn what Ayurveda is and its history, about the Doshas (the system that explains the tendencies of our individual bodies), our interconnection with nature and how to sync your lifestyle to the seasons, basic diet and lifestyle guidelines to bring yourself back into balance, and more.
