Community organizations are welcome to submit events to the City of Waukee Events Calendar from the “Add Event” button on the homepage. The City encourages submission of events which cater to the whole community such as pancake breakfasts, free concerts, ribbon cuttings and so on. The Events Calendar is not intended to promote private programming or sales initiatives, or to support a political party or candidate. The City has the right to decline any calendar submissions.

Mental Health Workshop for Families

NAMI Iowa presents about a variety of mental health topics and how parents, guardians, and family members can talk to and help their middle and high school-aged kids.

This interactive presentation by NAMI Iowa helps parents, guardians, and other family members of middle and high school-aged youth to learn about the warning signs of mental health conditions, what steps they should take to talk with children about mental health, as well as how to find and provide support for their child or loved one. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and gain an understanding of an often misunderstood topic. Through dialogue, we can help grow the movement to end the stigma surrounding mental health challenges. Registration is required.
