The front (north) public entrances and parking areas reopened at Waukee City Hall, following months of demolition and construction at the facility. Citizens can again access City Hall from the north, park in the front lot and enter through the main entrances. Utility payments can now be dropped off in a new pull-in lane in front of the building or just inside the building's main vestibule.
Work to improve the exterior conditions of City Hall began in April 2019. Improvements included removal and replacement of worn hard board siding, gutters, windows and fascia. The two north entrances into the building were also improved, including construction of vestibules. The project consisted of site improvements including the correction of ADA accessibility deficiencies, the addition of parking lot lighting and new safety elements/improvements.
Crews will also install a new building sign and a new monument sign. Some landscaping work will be ongoing.
The City thanks the public for patience during construction.
