All solicitors and peddlers are required to be licensed by the City of Waukee with certain specific exemptions as outlined in Waukee Municipal Code, Chapter 210. The purpose of a Peddler's Permit is to protect residents against fraud, unfair competition and intrusion into the privacy of their homes.
Permitted peddlers are required to keep their permits accessible at all times while conducting door-to-door business in Waukee. Feel free to ask peddlers, solicitors and transient merchants who knock on your door to display permits. Pursuant to the City's Municipal Code, hours of solicitation in the City of Waukee are from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Soliciting is not permitted on Sundays or on national holidays.
