Warrior Lane Improvements

Work to transition the existing five-way intersection at S. Warrior Lane, Northview Drive and Ashworth Drive into a four-leg, one-lane roundabout is now complete. The new roundabout at the intersection is open to traffic. The project will wrap up this fall with construction of the feature walls at the center of the roundabout, paver installation, seeding and landscaping of the medians and surrounding areas.

N. Warrior Lane Asphalt Overlay

Asphalt will be installed over the existing roadway on N. Warrior Lane from NE Badger Lane to Meredith Drive. Work on the project will be completed in two stages. Stage 1 includes the north half of Warrior Lane and all work on Meredith Drive. This stage is expected to be completed in early October. Full closures will remain in place overnight at the east and west construction limits on Meredith Drive and at the north side of the Meredith/Warrior intersection until the completion of all asphalt paving in Stage 1. Local access for those residents within the stage limits is available via Warrior Lane from the south. The first stage will reopen before the Contractor moves to the south half of Warrior Lane and begins similar operations in Stage 2.

SE Ashworth Road Corridor Improvements

The intersection of SE Ashworth Road and Grand Prairie Parkway is being widened to accommodate a four-lane urban section of roadway and new traffic signals on SE Ashworth Road. SE Ashworth Road is closed west of Grand Prairie Parkway to allow for underground utility installation and reconstruction. A joint utility trench has been installed at the site to allow for utility relocations. Paving is expected to be completed this fall and the roadway reopened before winter.

Ashworth Road & Ute Avenue Intersection Improvements

Improvements are planned for the intersection of Ashworth Road and Ute Avenue. Improvements include turn lanes at the intersection, a traffic signal and a water main extension along Ashworth Road. There will also be a recreational trail installed along the west side of Ute Avenue between Daybreak Drive and Silverleaf Lane connecting to the existing trail on the north side of Ashworth Road east of Sunflower Drive. Ashworth Road is currently closed west of Ute Avenue and is expected to remain closed through the fall construction season. Ashworth Road east of Ute Avenue is expected to close in mid-October for the remainder of the fall construction season. The first phase of the project will include the construction of temporary paving on the west side of Ute Avenue to allow for reconstruction of the existing roadway. Ute Avenue will remain open to traffic at all times, however, lane closures and flaggers will be utilized at some stages.

Paving operations are now underway on NW 2nd Street. The project is expected to be completed in spring 2022. See a map of the project.

NW Douglas Parkway Phase 2A & 2B

Two lanes of the planned four-lane boulevard section of NW Douglas Parkway will be constructed from NW 10th Street to NW 2nd Street. This section of NW Douglas Parkway will provide access to the north side of Triumph Park. Underground utility installation is complete and paving operations are underway. The project's expected completion date is spring 2022. See a map of the project.

NE Douglas Parkway Extension

Two lanes of the planned four-lane boulevard section of NE Douglas Parkway will be constructed from NE Badger Lane to N. Warrior Lane. The extension will provide an east-west thoroughfare for traffic to travel through the community more efficiently. Construction is nearing completion for the new right turn lane for southbound Warrior Lane traffic at Hickman Road. Grading for NE Douglas Parkway has begun after which underground utility work will be completed with paving to follow in the spring.
