Warrior Lane Improvements

Work to transition the existing five-way intersection at S. Warrior Lane, Northview Drive and Ashworth Drive into a four-leg, one-lane roundabout is now complete. The new roundabout at the intersection is completed. New streetlights have been installed and activated.

N. Warrior Lane Asphalt Overlay

Asphalt has been installed over the existing roadway on N. Warrior Lane from NE Badger Lane to Meredith Drive. The project has been completed and the roadway is fully open to traffic.

SE Ashworth Road Corridor Improvements

The intersection of SE Ashworth Road and Grand Prairie Parkway is being widened to accommodate a four-lane urban section of roadway and new traffic signals on SE Ashworth Road. SE Ashworth Road is closed west of Grand Prairie Parkway. Paving has been completed west of Grand Prairie Parkway. Crews are now focusing on the installation of subdrain along the pavement and adding pavement markings. The new roadway is anticipated to reopen to traffic by Wednesday, Nov. 24 (weather pending). Crews continue to work on utility installation east of Grand Prairie Parkway. Roadway improvements on the portion of SE Ashworth Road east of Grand Prairie Parkway will continue in the spring.

Ashworth Road & Ute Avenue Intersection Improvements

Improvements are planned for the intersection of Ashworth Road and Ute Avenue. Improvements include turn lanes at the intersection, a traffic signal and a water main extension along Ashworth Road. There will also be a recreational trail installed along the west side of Ute Avenue between Daybreak Drive and Silverleaf Lane connecting to the existing trail on the north side of Ashworth Road east of Sunflower Drive. Ashworth Road is currently closed west of Ute Avenue and is expected to remain closed through the fall construction season. Ashworth Road east of Ute Avenue is now closed and is also expected to remain closed through the fall construction season. The first phase of the project included the construction of temporary paving on the west side of Ute Avenue to allow for the reconstruction of the existing roadway. Crews are now working to install new water main along Ashworth Road and will continue with storm sewer installation and earth moving to allow for paving of the intersection next spring and summer. Ute Avenue will remain open to traffic at all times, however, lane closures and flaggers will be utilized at some stages.

Roadway paving is mostly complete and crews are working to finish the remaining items before winter conditions set in. Recreational trail and sidewalk paving, as well as pavement markings, will be completed in the spring. The project is scheduled to be completed in May 2022.
