Community organizations are welcome to submit events to the City of Waukee Events Calendar from the “Add Event” button on the homepage. The City encourages submission of events which cater to the whole community such as pancake breakfasts, free concerts, ribbon cuttings and so on. The Events Calendar is not intended to promote private programming or sales initiatives, or to support a political party or candidate. The City has the right to decline any calendar submissions.

  1. DIY Storytime

    November 9, 2019, 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM @ Waukee Public Library

    Every Saturday and Sundy during regular open hours. Families are encouraged to drop-in anytime to read some special stories and complete an activity specially selected by our Youth Services Staff. No registration required.

    Families with children ages 0-5 are invited to enjoy 20-25 minutes of interactive songs and stories with one of our youth services librarians. No registration required.

    LEGO fans are welcome to join teen volunteers to play with the library’s Legos and complete optional engineering challenges. No registration required.

  4. Sensory Spaces

    November 9, 2019, 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM @ Waukee Public Library

    The library will be open an extra hour to provide quiet browsing and inclusive programming for individuals of all ages with special sensory needs and their families or care-givers. In addition to computer availability and access to library materials, this event will feature a dimmed calm room, sensory stations, and a come-and-go songs and stories session. Waukee has collaborated with 9 other metro-area libraries to offer two libraries a month hosting these ongoing events. Individuals are encouraged to contact the hosting library for more details on activities at that location.
