Community organizations are welcome to submit events to the City of Waukee Events Calendar from the “Add Event” button on the homepage. The City encourages submission of events which cater to the whole community such as pancake breakfasts, free concerts, ribbon cuttings and so on. The Events Calendar is not intended to promote private programming or sales initiatives, or to support a political party or candidate. The City has the right to decline any calendar submissions.

  1. Waukee Citywide Garage Sale

    April 27, 2019, All Day

    Waukee residents hold many garage sales throughout the City on the Saturday prior to Spring Clean-Up Week. This year's Spring Clean-Up Week is April 30-May 5 which puts the Citywide Garage Sale day on Saturday, April 27, 2019. Note: This is not a City of Waukee-sponsored event. It is a designated day for private citizens to join many others in hosting garage sales. All advertising and time-setting for the sales is done so on an individual basis.

  3. Prescription Drug Take Back Day

    The National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications. Prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding your home of potentially dangerous expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs. Bring pills for disposal. The DEA cannot accept liquids or needles or sharps, only pills or patches. The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.

    Where fashion meets function! Our Trashion Show invites participants to come up with their best runway ready look, using only materials that were once destined for the dumpster. Grab a friend and get ready to make it work! For students in K-5th grades. Registration is required and will open 3 weeks before the event.

  5. Storm Water Management

    Come learn how to collect and utilize rain water at home! City of Waukee Stormwater Inspector Jenny Corkrean will teach you the basics and benefits of rainwater harvesting and the effects storm water has on the environment. Participants will learn how to prevent storm water runoff and how to collect and conserve water with rain barrels. Rain barrel selection, use, and maintenance will be discussed.
