Community organizations are welcome to submit events to the City of Waukee Events Calendar from the “Add Event” button on the homepage. The City encourages submission of events which cater to the whole community such as pancake breakfasts, free concerts, ribbon cuttings and so on. The Events Calendar is not intended to promote private programming or sales initiatives, or to support a political party or candidate. The City has the right to decline any calendar submissions.

  1. Circus Variety Show

    June 21, 2019, 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM @ Waukee Public Library

    Prepare to be amazed at this one-woman circus variety show. This expert performer will entertain you with silk fans, juggling, glow in the dark hula hoop tricks, and more. Martika will bring the feel of the circus to our library! www.martikamd.com Recommended for children entering Kindergarten and older and their families. Care-givers must remain in the event with their children. Registration is required for this event. Unregistered participants are welcome to come to the library on stand-by the day of the event and will be admitted to the program if space allows. Park at the church next door or the school across the street if the library lot is full. Please do not park in non-parking spaces.

  3. Better Homes & Gardens Test Garden Tour

    June 21, 2019, 12:30 PM - 2:30 PM @ Waukee Public Library

    We’re going on a library field trip! Join us for a private tour of the Better Homes and Gardens Test Garden located in downtown Des Moines. A garden staff member will give a brief talk about the garden and answer questions, then you will be free to stroll around at your leisure. The garden is handicap accessible and has a courtyard area with seating for when you need a break or just want to take a moment to soak up the sun. We will be taking a FREE roundtrip shuttle that will depart from the Waukee Public Library. Please arrive for boarding by 12:20pm, we will be leaving promptly at 12:30pm. If you would like to join us for the tour but do not wish to take the shuttle, you can meet us downtown at 15th & Grand. The tour will begin at 1pm. Registration Required. Registration will begin 3 weeks before the event.

  4. Craft Lab for Kids

    Design, create, and make! Craft Lab is an open-ended, creative space that invites kids to express their imagination in crafting and making. Participants are able to work on creative projects alone, in groups, or with library staff. Each month will explore a different medium of crafting, from jewelry to sewing to painting. For students in K-5th grades. No registration required.
