  2. Prescription Drug Take-Back Day

    October 24, 2020, 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM @ Waukee Public Safety Building

The DEA’s National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient and responsible way of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications. The Waukee Public Safety Building at 1300 SE L.A. Grant Parkway will be open Saturday, Oct. 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to accept pills and patches for disposal. Prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding your home of potentially dangerous expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs. The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked. The DEA cannot accept liquids or needles. The PD will also collect vape pens or other e-cigarette devices from individual consumers during the Oct. 24 Drug Take-Back Day.
