On Saturday, Sept. 14, Union Pacific will be working to replace railroad ties near the intersection of University Avenue and Alice's Road/Grand Prairie Parkway. Work will be done between the hours of 5:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. While no work will be done IN the intersection, the intersection will be closed for durations of 1-2 minutes at a time to allow equipment to cross. There will be no closures on Sept. 12 or 13 as previously planned. The Waukee Police Department will be on hand to assist. While the intersection closures will be brief, please allow a few minutes of extra travel time if utilizing this route on Sept. 12, 13 and 14 between the hours of 5:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.
