[ARCHIVED] Waukee Scout Installs Little Free Libraries in Three Parks

Waukee Boy Scout Carter Moseley recently finished building and installing Little Free Libraries at three of Waukee's parks - Centennial Park, Grant Park and Triangle Park. This project, thought up as one of the requirements to become an Eagle Scout, took him about a year to complete.

"I personally really like reading," Moseley said. "When I started to see Little Free Library® locations in town, I know I wanted to do that for my Eagle Scout project."

Moseley is a junior at Waukee High School and a member of Boy Scout Troop 182. He raised funds for the project and worked with the Waukee Parks & Recreation Department to determine locations. He also received some help with borrowing tools and securing materials from Geoff Warmouth at the Waukee Hardware & Rent-It Center.

"I think the location is great. We love the park and education," said Warmouth. "I can never turn an Eagle Scout project down when it comes to donations. This is a great community project."

The Triangle Park library was the final one to be installed on Friday, Oct. 20. All three locations are full of books. Stop by and either borrow some reading material or drop of book donations!
