This summer Centennial Park received a new addition! As his Eagle Scout project Ryan Rash spent nearly a year building a brand new Gaga Ball pit for the Waukee community to enjoy. Thanks to Ryan's hard work, Waukee residents of all ages now have a venue to try Gaga Ball for themselves.
Gaga Ball is a fast-paced sport that is very similar to dodgeball. Players gather in an octagonal pit and try to strike each other below the knees by hitting a ball with their hands. If struck below the knees, the player is out. The game continues until there is only one player remaining.
“Gaga ball is a sport designed to keep young people active. It is great for young kids to play and you can even play with older ages,” said Waukee Eagle Scout Ryan Rash.
The new Gaga Ball Pit is located in Centennial Park just off of Park Road by the ball fields. A full list of Gaga Ball rules is available at the Gaga Ball Pit.
