Both Erin (first photo) and Jerry Crone (second photo) spent countless hours working at Parks & Rec events. They assisted with candy and eggs at the Easter Egg Hunt, set up equipment at Movies in the Park, scared people at the Haunted House and much more to add value to the event visitors’ experiences.

Jim Miller and Randy Jensen were the leaders in raising more than a million dollars and working with RDG to design and construct the now popular Waukee Railroad Pergola art installation at the Raccoon River Valley Trail’s Waukee Trailhead.

The Waukee Triangle Businesses consisting of Waukee United Methodist Church, Waukee Hardware, Heartland Co-op, Classic Foral and the Waukee Ice Cream Shoppe often support Parks & Rec initiatives such as planning and participating in WinterFest, and hosting the Easter Coloring Contest.

DECRA Roofing Systems and Worth Exteriors approached the Parks & Recreation Department in 2018 offering to replace the Downtown Triangle Gazebo’s roofing with no project cost to the City. Materials were donated by DECRA, and labor was provided by Worth Exteriors.
