On Tuesday, November 18, the Waukee North Middle School hosted an assembly to educate students and staff about mental illness. Waukee Student Resource Officers were in attendance to learn more about the topic.
Three students and one instructor from Grand View University presented. They discussed their personal experiences and struggles with mental health along with a slide show of informative indicators of a student who might be struggling. They also discussed who students can talk to if they’re feeling withdrawn, depressed or experiencing anxiety.
