On Saturday, November 22, members of the Waukee Police Department delivered holiday food baskets to 12 families in the Waukee area. The baskets contained a turkey or ham, side dishes and a dessert. The program was initiated by officers in the police department as a way to give back to community members in need of assistance.
“I am humbled by the care and compassion the officers of the Waukee PD have for the citizens of this community," said Waukee Police Chief John Quinn. "The officers wanted to provide to some of the less fortunate families this holiday season and make sure they could enjoy a nice meal at Thanksgiving, letting them know that there is hope and people who care about them.”
