National home security and safety company SafeWise recently released its 20 safety cities in Iowa report for 2021, and Waukee made the cut at number 5! To identify the 20 cities with the best safety records, SafeWise analysts looked at the number of violent crimes reported through FBI crime statistics. They also calculated the number of violent crime incidents per 1,000 people in each city. Sioux Center was ranked first on the list.
Waukee's violet crime rate came in at 1.5 per 1,000 residents, compared to 2.7 statewide. The property crime rate is 11.7 per 1,000 residents, compared to 17.3 statewide. Waukee's current estimated population is 26,166. Review SafeWise's full report.
