The Waukee Police Department is proud to continue its Citizen’s Academy. This is the third year the program is being offered to Waukee business partners and residents. The Citizen’s Academy will take place November 3, 2016 through January 26, 2017, as a 30-hour block of instruction designed to give the public a working knowledge of the practices, policies and procedures governing the Waukee Police Department. The academy consists of 10 weekly three-hour sessions and an optional ride-along with a patrol officer.
“We have had great citizen responses to this program,” said Sergeant Jeremy Long. “We look forward to a new group this year and being able to provide another inside look to the Waukee Police Department in an engaging and impactful way.”
