The Waukee Police Department participated in its annual Shop With a Cop program on Saturday, Dec. 9. There were 17 local children who were each assigned an officer with which to shop. The Police and Fire Departments cooked breakfast for participants. Then the Waukee Police Officers took them shopping at Wal-Mart for gifts for themselves and their families. Afterward, they wrapped presents and ate a pizza lunch at the Waukee Public Safety Building. This program is made possible by donations from various Waukee residents, City employees, Brick Gentry, P.C., Gilcrest/Jewett, Stivers Form Lincoln, Waukee Crime Stoppers, Kiwanis Club of Waukee and Myriad Advisor Solutions, Inc.
