The City of Waukee recently announced that Rudy Koester was hired as the new Assistant Public Works Director – Engineering. He began his work on January 3rd.
Koester worked as Transportation Planner for the City of Ames from 2010-2014 and then served the City of Ames as a Civil Engineer through 2016. Koester is a graduate of Iowa State University.
“Rudy brings years of municipal engineering experience to the City of Waukee,” said Public Works Director John Gibson. “He will be an integral member of our staff and is bringing a new perspective and enthusiasm to the Public Works Department.”
This is a new position for the City, added to lead and manage the continually increasing improvement projects in the growing community. Koester will oversee the Engineering, GIS and Stormwater Departments while Assistant Public Works Director – Operations, Tim Royer, will continue to oversee the Gas, Sewer, Water, Streets and Equipment Services Departments.
