[ARCHIVED] Application Process Changes for Block Party Permits

block parties

Are you looking ahead to warmer months and thinking about hosting a block party for your neighborhood? If so, the City has some information to share regarding recent changes to the block party permit application process.

Applications can be found here or by contacting the Waukee City Clerk. The block permit permit requires Waukee City Council approval ONLY if there is a request for the temporary closure of a public street. If a temporary street closure is requested, the City requires that all such block parties use barricades provided by the City of Waukee. After a $250 refundable barricade deposit is submitted to the City and the Waukee City Council approves the street closing, the Public Works Department will deliver barricades the weekday prior to the party and will pick them up the weekday following the party. The City also asks that block party applicants notify all neighbors within the street closure area of the event. A separate noise permit is no longer required.

Please contact the Waukee City Clerk at 515-978-7904 with questions or for additional information.
