The real estate industry website Realtor.com® released its top 10 list of the country's fastest-growing suburbs. The article, written by Lance Lambert, states that "Americans are falling in love with the 'burbs again". Waukee ranks number 9 on the top 10 list based on its construction boom, home appreciation and population growth!
The article goes on to say that "Demand is fierce in communities that have the right mix of good schools, short commute times, fun and walkable downtowns, and lots of new, spacious homes". While Apex, NC leads the way in growth, Waukee is praised in the article for the highest rate of new construction among the 10 suburbs on the list. More than 55 percent of the homes listed through the first six months of this year in Dallas County were newly built. Economic growth including projects like The Palms Theatres & IMAX and the community's first Starbucks were also mentioned.
