The Waukee Police Department will be conducting its May Targeted Traffic Enforcement Project (TTEP) on Friday, May 24 from 2:30-5:30 p.m. This special enforcement initiative will focus on distracted driving.
Review Iowa's law regarding the use of electronic communication devices while driving.
According to an Iowa DOT report, there were 1,090 crashes in 2018 in Iowa caused by drivers distracted by the use of a phone or other device. Eight fatalities resulted from those crashes. There were 32 major injuries and 143 minor injuries reported.
