[ARCHIVED] Sugar Creek Municipal Golf Course Reopening May 15

Sugar Creek Municipal Golf Course will reopen on Friday, May 15 at 7 a.m. While the driving range and golf course will be open, many modifications are being made to encourage social distancing and to allow staff time for extra cleaning measures. The City is taking extra precautions to help stop the spread of COVID-19. Golfers can call the clubhouse at 515-987-5247 to schedule a tee time. Call-ahead tee time scheduling and payment is strongly encouraged. The health and safety of golfers and staff is of the utmost importance. Please see below for additional course modifications in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Golf Course

First tee time - 7 a.m.
Last tee time - 6:30 p.m.

  • Advance tee time scheduling and payments are encouraged.
  • No cash will be accepted at the facility.
  • Carts will be restricted to one rider per cart unless the golfers live in the same household. 
  • Cart usage will depend on availability.
  • Golf carts will be disinfected after each use.
  • Modified cups will be in place to eliminate touching of the flagstick.
  • Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled tee time. Please depart immediately after play to help reduce group gatherings.
  • Clubhouse will be limited to two persons at one time.
  • Plastic barriers have been installed across countertops.
  • Please utilize the designated "In" and "Out" doors at the Clubhouse.
  • Clubhouse restrooms will be closed.
  • Portable toilets will be available in the parking lot and on the course and will be disinfected on an hourly basis.

Driving Range

7 a.m.-7 p.m.
Closed Wednesday until noon for mowing

  • Additional staff will be present at the range to place balls on practice area
  • Golf balls will be disinfected after each use
