The Waukee Fire Department held their semi-annual pancake breakfast and food drive on Saturday, May 17, at the Waukee Fire Station. The department served more than 700 people and the attendees enjoyed delicious pancakes, bacon and sausage. The family-friendly event included a bounce house, fire truck rides, a place for kids to spray water and great weather. Here are some quick numbers from the event:
-130 pounds of pancake mix consumed
-70 pounds of sausage served
-90 pounds of bacon served (donated by Bacon Fest)
-24 gallons of orange juice consumed (Donated by Waukee HyVee)
-15 gallons of milk consumed (Donated by Waukee HyVee)
