Utility Assistance Programs

Income-Based Assistance

The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) helps qualifying low-income homeowners and renters pay for a portion of their primary heating costs for the winter heating season.

  • When to Apply: Applications for those age 60 and up and those with disabilities will be taken starting Oct. 1 each year. All others may sign up between Nov. 1 and April 30.
  • Eligibility: A household may qualify if the household’s income falls within the income range listed online. This program is not designed to pay a household’s total energy costs, but to provide assistance in the payment of residential heating costs.
