Everyone is welcome to be in Waukee’s Independence Day Parade. Registration is not required. Those who wish to participate in the parade should arrive at 2 p.m. at the Vince Meyer Learning Center located at 400 Locust Street. No water balloons or guns will be allowed in the parade.
IMPORTANT: If part of a group, Parks & Rec staff recommends parade participants park in the parking lot located on the west side of Waukee Stadium and carpool to Vince Meyer Learning Center. At the end of the parade, float/parade vehicle drivers may utilize Park Road to get to the parking lot west of the Waukee Stadium. Park and unload float participants/walkers only in the stadium lot. Due to safety concerns, parade vehicles will not be allowed to stop/unload participants on Warrior Lane or on Park Road. For those picking up parade participants at the end of the route, please pick them up in the parking lot directly west of Waukee Stadium. Vehicles waiting for participants on Warrior Lane or Park Road cause traffic issues and can prevent emergency personnel from getting to the area if needed. Call 515-978-0007 with questions about the parade.
